Start your weekend in Calais with a stroll along the fine sandy beach. Discover the city's history while strolling or biking in the bassin du Paradis or the Courgain Maritime district, born around the 9th century from a hamlet which was home to the families of fishermen. Then explore the fort Risban and its citadel. The next day, head to the market in the Place d’Armes, enjoy some culinary specialties and marvel at the 38-meter Guet Tower and the and Rodin bronze of Les Six Bourgeois, recalling the 1347 famine.
