A two-day break
With only two days to soak up the magic of Geneva, a day should be spent in the centre and a day by the lake. Central Geneva boasts hundreds of shops (jewellery and chocolate are a specialty) and over forty fantastic museums to keep you entertained. By staying at the Campanile Hotel Genève you will be close to everything. After that, there’s nothing more refreshing than a day of rest with Lake Geneva as your backdrop. Don’t forget to see the Jet d’Eau – Geneva’s famous jet stream of water, reaching up to 140m – though it’s doubtful you’d miss it !
A week-long stay
With a little more time on your hands, you might like to take the opportunity to go on one of Geneva’s many city and countryside tours. At only a few hours long, why not take a country and a city tour to experience the fullness of the city’s character ? Due to its perfect central location, Geneva is also a fantastic base from which to explore other areas of both France and Switzerland. Excursions to Chamonix, Mont Blanc, Gruyères and Lausanne depart from here daily.
A Family Holiday
Whatever season you decide to visit Geneva, there is always an event perfect for a family-friendly treat. During the summer, Geneva plays host to the largest lake sailing regatta in Europe, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, welcoming competitors from all over Europe to the city’s own Lake Geneva. It is truly a sight to behold. When winter sets in, neighbouring towns such as Montreux and Chillon become prime destinations for some authentic Christmas market shopping, leaving every adult and child feeling festive.
