Glasgow has two international airports. Glasgow International is only 8 miles from the Hotel Campanile Glasgow. The city can be reached via the M8, M80, M77 and the M74 from the south of England. The city has several bus services and the most vast urban rail network in Great Britain outside of London . Edinburgh , Aberdeen , Dundee , Inverness and the Western Highlands can be reached via from Queen Street station. There is also an excellent underground service within the city.
Glasgow is home to some of the UK’s best restaurants including Sapori D'Italia, an Italian restaurant with great service and delicious authentic food. For traditional Scottish food, eat at the Black Sheep Bistro. The haggis with chicken and whiskey sauce is to die for.
Glasgow hosts numerous festivals throughout the year including the Jazz Festival in June, Glasgay! (A gay and lesbian arts festival) held from October to November, and Celtic Connections, which focuses on the origins of Scottish music, is held during winter.
The man who invented television, John Logie Baird, transmitted the world’s first long-distance television images from a room in The Central Hotel in Glasgow.
