A two-day break:
Two days is just enough to be able to explore the wonderful city of Marseille. Visit and relax in the Vieux Port (the old harbour) are of the town, visit the exquisite churches – including Notre Dame de la Garde – and go to Parc Borely, a large green space, less than a kilometre from the sea. To get the better, less crowded beaches, travel south of the centre towards La Madrague harbour.
A week-long stay:
Marseille is a very large city, set in a beautiful area in southern France, so a week-long stay enables a far more extensive exploration of it. For a bit of peace and quiet from the busy city of Marseille, why not travel to Martigues and the surrounding area ? Not far north of Marseille, this pleasant port town can best be explored by staying at Hotel Campanile Marseille – Martigues.
A family holiday:
In addition to the large number of beach resorts in and around Marseille, there are plenty of other places to visit and activities in France for families with children. A number of museums in the city - Préau des Accoules, in particular - are designed for children, and there are also several dedicated children’s theatres throughout Marseille. Parc Borely, in the south of the city, is also worth a visit with children.
