The Beauvais Tillé Airport was taken over by the low-cost carrier Ryanair in 1997. It is well known by Parisians who used it very frequently to travel around for the best prices. More and more destinations are added to Ryanair each year, and traffic through the airport consequently gets heavier and heavier. There is a shuttle bus (15 euros each way) that leaves from Paris Porte Maillot several times per day. The Beauvais train station is served by TER (local) trains, and can easily get you to nearby cities. You can also easily get to the town by car. Once in the town, you can use the Corolis transportation system, which is made up of 25 bus lines that will take your all throughout the town and its surroundings. You can also get around by bicycle, or, in some cases, on foot.
Cider is very often incorporated into cuisine that comes from around Beauvais. Definitely try rabbit in cider sauce.
The “Blues autour du Zinc” Festival takes place every year in March and brings together different musicians. The Cello Ensemble Festival is a great opportunity to hear some of the best music that can be produced on the instrument.
Ryanair, Beauvais' main airline, was founded in 1985 and is Europe's largest low-cast carrier.
