Nice has excellent transport links including it's own airport, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, which is one of the biggest in France. Wanting to travel in style ? Catch a helicopter from here and be in Monaco in just seven minutes. There is a good tram and bus service from the city centre and the high speed TGV train means that Paris can be reached in 6 hours and Marseille in 2.5. The long promenade is ideal for cycling and bike hire is readily available.

The Carnaval de Nice, one of the most famous carnivals in the world alongisde the Brazilian and Venetian carnivals, is held every year in February. If you're in the area in May, take advantage of and La Nuit des Musées when entry to museums is completely free.
