Well, where to start... I had emailed and rang the property numerous times on the to ask for early check in to be told the earliest check in was 11am...
Well, where to start... I had emailed and rang the property numerous times on the to ask for early check in to be told the earliest check in was 11am but could go up to 3pm (and also tried again on the morning of our trip just to double check). Me and my friends were travelling down from Newcastle on an early bus so we were going to get there for about 11am anyways - As I am a Genius on Booking.com I assumed that the early rooms ready at 11am would be allocated to us as this is part of the booking.com perks. When I got there I was told that our room still wasn't ready and that we could get ready in the disabled toilets located in reception and put our luggage in the meeting room which wasn't a problem. Once ready, we went and sat in the meeting room with our luggage waiting for our room to become available. After a good 20 minutes, one of the staff called Magda (or something similar) came in and spoke to us appallingly shouting saying we weren't allowed to sit there, the only other place to go was the bar to obviously spend our money. She was being very Rude saying we had made a mess of the carpets which were clearly stained before we came in as we all noticed it and it was still like that when we returned later that night proving it was just a stain from something previous which the night porter agreed. I returned to the desk an hour or 2 later after sitting in the bar to ask how the room was coming along to be told it still wasn't ready however, not once did they even ask my name or reservation number so I don't understand how they could know if the room was ready or not. As we sat in the bar we noticed more and more people be handed their room keys at around 1pm who were also waiting and we were the last ones in the place, we asked the reception to book us a taxi for 2:45pm as we were going to a festival and thought they weren't going to give us our room on time anyways. Magda knew the time of our taxi so as it pulled up, she decided that would be a good time to give us our keys, we just left them at reception because we had enough hassle that day so kept our luggage in the meeting room and didn't get to check in with our things until we got in at 2am. We were up and out early the next day so the majority of our experience at this hotel was very poor.

Reception was fine, quick and efficient. Restaurant was fine, served food until 2130. Walking to room on ground floors felt like walking through a prison unit. Dull grey colours. Got to room which is in urgent need of updating. Television could be doing with new position. The decor could be more welcoming than a lamp that's been halved in two and gorilla glued onto the wall as two bedside lights. New heating system as we feared fire hazard. Also a dog was in the corridor and room next to us barking. Morning wake up call at 0530. Much to say we were barking mad at this.
